Description

Bricktown’s legacy is rooted in music, as the historic home of Douglass High School, where legendary educator Zelia Breaux taught jazz icons Charlie Christian and Jimmy Rushing. Over the years, that musical spirit lives on across Bricktown through venues and institutions like the Academy of Contemporary Music, the American Banjo Museum, The Oklahoma Opry, The Criterion, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill, JJ’s Alley, Skinny Slim’s, and many other stages that bring live music to the district year-round. With streets named after Oklahoma music icons like Wanda Jackson, the Flaming Lips, Kings of Leon, and Vince Gill, Bricktown’s connection to music runs literally and figuratively through its streets.

On September 12, Bricktown will celebrate this rich history with Bandwagon, a new walkable, district-wide music festival featuring live performances all across Bricktown, from beloved indoor venues to an outdoor stage that invites everyone to follow the music through the district.

More details, including venues, performers, and partners, coming soon. Mark your calendars and get ready to follow the music in Bricktown on September 12.
