We, at MetroFamily, extend our sincerest appreciation to all our veterans for your service! On this day, we honor our military and the sacrifices made for our freedoms. Organizations in the metro have organized opportunities to teach the community the importance of honoring those who serve.

Check out this list for ways to honor veterans in the metro today, plus special discounts for veterans.

Nov. 15

Veterans @ FAM

659 First Americans Blvd, OKC

Celebrate and honor Native service members by adding their records to a searchable database within FAM’s OKLA HOMMA exhibition. First Americans Museum (FAM) invites First American veterans and active military who are enrolled citizens of the 39 Tribal Nations in Oklahoma to bring photos, records and other materials that document their service. Free to attend. 11 a.m.-4 p.m.


Nov. 9

FREE Blanchard’s Veterans Day Parade

Main St, Blanchard

Features high school marching bands and cheer squads, as well as numerous Shriners’ units and more, all paying tribute to U.S. military veterans. 10:30 a.m.- noon.

Veterans Day 5K at Mitch Park

1501 W Covell Rd, Edmond

Features a 5K run and family activities benefiting Mission 22, a nonprofit serving active service members, veterans and their families. $20-$30. 2-4 p.m.

FREE Norman’s Veteran’s Day Parade at Reaves Park

2501 S Jenkins Ave, Norman

Features a parade and memorial ceremony commemorating those who defend our country. 2-4:30 p.m.

FREE Canadian County Veterans Parade & Celebration in Downtown El Reno

206 W Bickford, El Reno

Features a parade, guest speaker, patriotic songs performed by a local choir and a recital of the Gettysburg Address. 2-5 p.m.


Nov. 11

FREE Veterans Day Parade in Midwest City

S.E. 15th St and Century Blvd, Midwest City

Features a parade featuring marching bands, military personnel and equipment, Shriner’s and more. 10 a.m.-11 a.m.

FREE Veterans Day Celebration at Oklahoma National Guard Museum

2145 N.E. 36th St, OKC

Features a performance by the 145th Army Band, a guest speaker and a beautiful Massing of the Colors. The museum and its grounds will be open for attendees to enjoy as well. 10-11 a.m.

FREE Moore Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park

301 S Howard Ave, Moore

Features a special ceremony honoring the sacrifice of local veterans and their families. 10-11 a.m.

 

Venues offering free or discounted admission for veterans: 

  • Oklahoma City Museum of Art – Veterans and active-duty military receive discounted admission to the Museum throughout the year and kids 17 & under are always free!
  • Oklahoma City Zoo – Nov. 1-14, the OKC Zoo is offering all active duty, retired and veteran members of the military, National Guard and Reserves free general Zoo admission and special discounts while in the park. Military members will also receive $10 general Zoo admissions for up to four immediate family members on date of visit. Valid military ID is required to receive complimentary general admission.
  • Oklahoma Hall of Fame – The Oklahoma Hall of Fame offers a military and veteran admission discount throughout the year.
  • Sam Noble Museum – Year-round free admission for active-duty military and veterans and $1 discount for any non-service family members and/or friends.
  • Twin Peaks – On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, all veterans and active-duty service members can enjoy a free lunch from a select menu between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at participating locations nationwide. A valid military ID is required.
  • S&B’s Burger Joint – Veterans receive a free Classic Cheeseburger, fries & a Coca-Cola™️ with proof of service on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
  • Alfredo’s Mexican Cafe – Veterans and active military receive a FREE meal on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at participating locations.
