The fall season is officially here, and we’re ready to cozy up in the kitchen with some delicious, fall recipes! Below are a few of my family’s all-time favorites — perfect for snacks, dessert and everything in between. Try one (or all!), and let me know which becomes your new fall favorite!
Snacks
These muffins are light, fluffy, and topped with an irresistible cinnamon streusel. (Tip: If you’re a streusel lover like me, only fill your muffin tin halfway and load up on the topping!)
Perfect for new bakers! This recipe comes together in one bowl, keeps dishwashing to a minimum and turns out delicious every time. It can also be made as muffins or mini-muffins. Just adjust the baking time to 20–25 minutes for muffins, and 11–13 minutes for minis.
I love pumpkin seeds! My mom made these with me and my sister when we were little, and now with my kids, and they feel like fall. You can adjust the seasonings to whatever floats your boat, but I prefer Lawry’s Seasoned Salt.
Desserts
Dark Chocolate Chip Comfort Cookies
These are my go-to “wow” desserts. They’re rich, portable and deliver that unbeatable chocolate-peanut butter flavor combo.
This is my signature Thanksgiving fruit pie. You can prep the filling and topping ahead of time, then assemble closer to dinner. I always measure the cinnamon with my heart (the recipe says a teaspoon, but I go with a generous shake!), and it never disappoints.
A true fall showstopper. I sometimes skip the making the frosting and top it with whipped topping and a drizzle of caramel instead — it’s still delicious! This one makes an excellent teacher gift too. (Tip: Use mini-loaf pans and bake for about 40 minutes.)
Mains
I might lose my fall-lover status for saying this… but I’m just not into savory pumpkin dishes. (I promise pumpkin-flavor is in almost everything else, from my coffee to my cake!)
A family favorite — simple, hearty and packed with flavor. You can skip searing the meat before tossing it in the slow cooker, but it really does add something special. (Bonus: Make a larger roast and freeze the leftovers for an easy future meal.)
When I need something warm and comforting, this is my go-to. The dumplings come together quickly, and a touch of thyme takes it over the top. It’s the kind of dish I make just for me… I might share, maybe.
Let me know which recipe becomes a staple in your fall kitchen!
