The only thing better than fall fun is free fall fun. We’ve rounded up the best free events and things to do happening throughout the Oklahoma City area that are entirely free and listed them for you below. So round up the family and indulge in some frugal fall fun!

Sept. 6

FREE Children’s Fishing Derby at Ten Acre Lake

15600 NE 10th St, Choctaw

This age-divided fishing derby is for kids of all ages. Food trucks will be on-site for refreshments. 8-11 a.m.

FREE Hooked on Fishing Lessons at Edwards Park

FREE Second OHOF Saturdays at Oklahoma Hall of Fame

Enjoy complimentary admission, crafts, games and more. Also held Oct. 11. 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

FREE Oklahoma Comic Arts Festival at Oklahoma Contemporary

11 NW 11th St, OKC

Oklahoma’s first-ever mashup of a comic book convention and arts festival features professional comics creators from Oklahoma and high-profile comic artists from around the country. Learn how to make your own comics in workshops and programs led by guest artists. 10 a.m.-6 p.m.


Sept. 12

FREE OKC Ballet Under the Stars at Scissortail Park

415 S Robinson Ave, OKC

Watch excerpts from classical ballet and modern dance performed by professional dancers and local students. Attendees can also participate in a movement class. 5:30-9 p.m.


Sept. 13

FREE OU Westheimer Aviation Festival at Max Westheimer Airport

1700 Lexington Ave, Norman

Explore aviation through STEM activities for kids, static displays showcasing various types of aircraft and more. 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

FREE Fall Block Party at Scissortail Park

403 SW 10th St, OKC

Take part in free lessons and tournaments on the sports courts. There will also be food trucks, activities for kids, music and more. 9 a.m.-noon.


Sept. 20

FREE Old Volks Show at Wildhorse Park

1201 N Mustang Rd, Mustang

See a host of classic cars from the earliest makes and models and beyond as well as a live DJ playing music from the 60s & 70s and food trucks. 8 a.m.-3 p.m.


Sept. 27

FREE Monarch Festival at Mollie Spencer Farm

1001 Garth Brooks Blvd, Yukon

Enjoy monarch-related crafts for kids, including a seed ball-making station, face painting, and more. Local gardening experts will be available to answer all your questions about planting a garden that attracts and supports monarch butterflies. Preregister. 9 a.m.-noon.

FREE DiscoverFest (formerly Tinkerfest) at Science Museum Oklahoma

2020 Remington Pl, OKC

The daylong celebration of curiosity and creativity includes FREE museum admission plus hands-on activities, hosted by SMO staff and community partners. 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

FREE Fiestas de las Americas in the Historic Capitol Hill District

SW 25th St. between Harvey and Robinson

Celebrate Oklahoma’s rich multicultural heritage with the Parade of the Americas, family activities and live entertainment. 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

FREE Plaza District Festival

See a wide array of Oklahoma’s own performing artists, visual artists and live musicians. There will also be free activities for kids.   noon-11 p.m.

The free country music concert stars Brothers Osborne, known for hit songs such as “Stay a Little Longer” and “It Aint My Fault.” 7 p.m.

Features a celebration of the Hispanic culture representing multiple countries through music, dance, food and vendor showcase. 5-10 p.m.


Oct. 13

FREE Indigenous Peoples Day at First Americans Museum

659 First Americans Blvd, OKC

Features cultural performances, educational demonstrations, dancing exhibitions, film screenings, a hand drum contest, live music, stickball games, food trucks and more. Exhibition admission (optional) is discounted at $5 per person for ages four and up. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

FREE Fall Y’all Family Fun at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame

1400 Classen Dr, OKC

Enjoy fall-themed crafts, story time, games and more, plus free museum admission. 10 a.m.-2 p.m.


Oct. 16

FREE Haunt the Harn at Harn Homestead

1721 N Lincoln Blvd, OKC

Features an outdoor trick-or-treating event with old-fashioned games and crafts. Friendly costumes are encouraged. Tickets are required for kids ages 2 & up. 6:30-8:30 p.m.


Oct. 17-19

FREE Arcadia Route 66 Neonfest

E Old Highway 66, Arcadia

See neon displays, neon campfires, a film festival and more. Neon Campfire begins at 7:30 p.m. nightly. See website for schedule.


Oct. 18

FREE Stockyards Stampede at Stockyard City

S Agnew Ave, OKC

Watch a longhorn parade and then explore chuckwagons, equestrian activities, carriage rides, food trucks, and a children’s educational area. 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

FREE Red Earth FallFest at Myriad Gardens

301 W Reno Ave, OKC

Celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day with an arts market and a youth Powwow. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

FREE Uptown Outside in Historic Uptown 23rd

NW 23rd St, OKC

Take part in a block-party style event with food, music, art and community. Activities include a kids’ area, vendor market, skate park and more. 4-10 p.m.


Oct. 25

FREE Midtown Walkabout

Robinson Ave, OKC

Features free pop-up programming such as art demonstrations, live music and more. Midtown merchants and restaurants will offer specials, activities and giveaways. 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

FREE Trick-or-Treat Event at DICK’S House of Sport

13145 N Penn Ave, OKC

Celebrate Halloween with candy stations and giveaways. Kids can collect candy and goodies from local businesses and community partners stationed throughout the store and on the field. Costumes encouraged. 1-4 p.m.

FREE Haunt Old Town Moore

Broadway Ave, Moore

Features family fun activities including trick or treating, food trucks, inflatables, games, music & candy. 4-7 p.m.


Oct. 26

FREE Brick or Treat in Bricktown

Reno Ave & Mickey Mantle Dr, OKC

Features trick or treating at Bricktown businesses, popular characters and local mascots, spooky tunes and more. For ages 14 & under. 1-4 p.m.


Oct. 31

FREE Haunt the Hill On Calle Dos Cinco

SW 25th Street from Hudson to Robinson, OKC

Features games, trunk-or-treating and more. Costumes encouraged. 5-7 p.m.


Nov. 23

FREE Admission Day at Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum

1714 W Wrangler Dr, Seminole

Families can enjoy complimentary museum admission all day! 1-5 p.m.
