FAQ

Q: What is MetroFamily Magazine?

A: Published since 1998, MetroFamily has a mission to provide a relevant and trustworthy source of information to Central Oklahoma parents. Our vision is to become a household name with the reputation of enhancing the lives of the parents we serve. We provide this information in three formats: through our award-winning magazine, our many events, our weekly E-Update, and our two websites (MetroFamilyMagazine.com and ExploringOK.com).

Q: How can I get a copy of MetroFamily Magazine?

A: MetroFamily is a free distribution magazine with 35,000 copies made available via over 500 locations every month. We're distributed through all area public libraries, YMCAs, Homeland stores, Crest stores, Jimmy's Egg locations, and Tan & Tone locations. Find a partial list of easy-to-find distribution locations here. Many of our readers prefer to subscribe to the magazine. Find out how to get your one-year subscription here. You may also want to subscribe to our popular, free weekly E-Update, a newsletter that provides a handy list of upcoming weekend events, sent to your in-box each Thursday. Subscribe to E-Update here.

Q: How can I get MetroFamily distributed in bulk at my school or place of business?
A:
Please email Kathy Alberty, our distribution manager, and let her know your school or business name, your exact location, your complete address (including zip code), a contact name and phone number, an estimated number of magazines that you need, and an email address. We consider each location based on many factors but give careful consideration to each request. If you need to talk to Kathy, please call the office at 405.340.1404 and leave your name and number.

Q: How can I advertise with MetroFamily?
A: Because we serve over 80,000 "household CEO's," we are the perfect vehicle to get your message to these buyers. Find all the details here.

Q: How can I get a story or calendar item in the magazine?
A: We welcome your ideas for stories and press releases. We do our best to use all that we can that fit within the context of our editorial themes and the limited number of pages we have to work with each month. To submit information about family-related events for our calendar, you may submit them to calendar@metrofamilymagazine.com.  Submitting them by email also submits them for the print magazine. Keep in mind, however, that our print deadlines are quite early in the month prior to the print date. Events submitted after the 10th of the month may not make it in to the print issue. We do the best we can when events are submitted past our editorial deadline.
